The MultEMplex COST Innovators Grant (CIG)

The COST Innovators Grant (CIG) initiative, funded under Horizon Europe, aims to build bridges between research and take-up at the market, product, service, or societal level. CIGs aim to enhance the pace and success of research breakthroughs and, as such, offer ending Actions the possibility to create an additional impact during the year after the end of the Action. More information about CIGs can be found here.

The MultEMplex COST Innovators Grant (CIG) proposes developing a new EM grid and workflow to revolutionise the cryo-FIB/cryo-CLEM field. We plan to design less fragile grids for the deposition, culturing and, ultimately, the imaging of single cells. We aim for a regular design of our functionalised EM-grids to allow for high throughput screening, resulting in comprehensive data sets on single grids.

In association with the MFS2023 Meeting, the MultEMplex CIG will have a two-day meeting in Braga on September 26 and 27th to discuss in detail the needs, constraints and the proposed design for the new EM-grid and workflow. Portions of the meeting are open to anyone in the electron microscopy community, and all MFS2023 participants are invited to join the open sessions and contribute to the discussions.

The MultEMplex CIG will cover venue and catering costs. However, advance registration is required; a participation signature will be needed to verify your participation.
